Lemosho Route day by day program.
Day 1(Day 2 – Moshi – Londorossi Gate (2,100m) 1.30 mile/s – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m) 2.71 miles) Above sea level

The climb starts at Londorossi Gate after being picked up in your stay in moshi. From the gate to the first stop at the camping site will take four hours
Day 2– Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m) 1.71miles – Shira Camp 1 (3,500m) 2.17 miles Above the sea level.
On the second day of the climb you will reach a higher plateau with less vegetation. A long the way are several streams and hills on the way to Shira camp where at this point the Kibo Glacier is visible for the first time. Climbing takes 5-6 hours
Day 3 (Shira Camp 1 (3,500m) 2.17 miles – Moir Hut (4,160m) 2.58 miles) Above Sea level
Walking and exploring the Shira plateau is an excellent acclimatisation opportunity . Hiking time takes 5- 6 hours
Day 4
Moir Hut (4,160m) 2.58 miles – Lava Tower Hut (4,640m) 2.88 miles– Barranco Camp (3,960m)2.46 miles Above sea level.
The climb will begin heading towards lava tower. The ascension will allow the body to acclimatise. As climbing through an Alfro-Alpine desert you will arrive on one of the most beautiful camps on the mountain - the Barranco Camp. The climb usually takes 6-8 hours
Day 5(optional day) – Barranco Camp (3,960m) 2.46 miles– Karanga Camp (4,035m)2.51 miles. Above sea level
This path has many climbs and descents which will allow further acclimatisation. This trek usually takes 3 - 4 hours before stopping at the next camp. (Karanga Camp)
Day 6 – Karanga Camp (4,035m) 2.51 miles – Barafu Camp (4,640m) 2.88 miles Above sea level
For the most part of trekking you will be walking on a dry desert with a beautiful view ion Kibo, It takes 3-4 hours to reach Barafu Camp for dinner. The most important part of the climb will only be few hours away once you get here.
Day 7 Barafu Camp (4,640m) 2.88 miles – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) 3.7 miles – Mweka Camp (3,080m) 1.91miles Above sea level
This is usually the big day as you’ll start walking in the middle of the night as you climb towards Stella point (5730m), It takes 5-7 hours to reach the edge of the crater. After few hours you will have reached Uhuru Peak where you will enjoy the big sun rising overt the African Landscape. You will head back to Barafu Camp along the same route where you can rest and relax before heading to Mweka for the last night in Mount Kilimanjaro
Day 8 – Mweka Camp (3,080m) 1.91 mile/s – Mweka Gate (1,630m) 1.01 mile Above Sea level
Hiking time: 2-3 hours.
Once again the descend will be through the rainforest, with the possibility to spot colobus monkeys, reaching the Mweka gate of Kilimanjaro National Park at the end. After transfer back to the hotel Alternatively, you can extend your trip with a safari or a relaxing beach holiday..
